“For me, being an artist is a life journey as well as an inner journey.”
Viewing my portfolio, you’ll notice that I work in different series. I do not plan the images, they are intuitive interactions created by life experience, accessing my broader knowledge most importantly spiritual, and ever-growing knowledge of materials. I continue to experiment which is key for my creative muse. New ideas are continually born, some finding their way into new work.
I’ve found painting to be a life journey as well as an inner journey. I work abstractly because I enjoy the freedom and adventure of working from imagination. However, my mission has evolved from creating purely abstract paintings to allowing impressions of my childhood in the Coachella Valley desert to creep in. Impressions of deep blue sky, golden sunsets, mountains turning rose colored in late afternoon, stark landscape, unobstructed views for miles, warm evenings – perfect for a group of fun-loving children who never wanted to go indoors.
These memories morph into my paintings as beauty which can be translated differently for every individual. For me, it is the imparting of a feeling of appreciation, joy, and energy. I give the viewer freedom to find their own truth and to see beauty in their own way when observing my paintings. My goal is to touch each person to the core of their being, that place inside all of us that doesn’t recognize shape or form, but innately reacts to color, passion, joy and possibility.
