Michael Monroe Ethridge creates abstract landscapes with layers of acrylic color and texture. For this exhibit, Ethridge will be showing three series of paintings based on three tranquil emotions his work evokes – serenity, harmony, and wonder. The paintings will done be in Ethridge’s signature style – tropical abstract landscape – but varying color palettes will define each emotion.
Ehtridge’s artistic inspiration comes from the natural world; abstract interpretations of a Santa Fe sunset, a Florida ocean breeze, or a tropical turquoise sky from his time on Caribbean cruise ships as musician and artist, make their way onto his canvases in dazzling colors. His January experience on an Oceania cruise ship as artist-in-residence will surely bring fresh inspiration to his work, along with the completion of his new art studio and display space in Naples, Florida. Michael’s artistic career is currently in a flourishing transition, which will be evident in this body of work at Pippin Contemporary.
